I had the weirdest dream last night.

I have weird dreams all the time. ALL THE TIME. Actually, most of the time, I don't dream: I nightmare. Lost two jobs. Wasn't in school for nine months. Paid my own bills. Got into two grad schools. Became a teacher. Lived without an ice-maker. Got a cat.

So, all I have to do this weekend is grade my students' final exams. And then I'm done. So . . . what now? The next five weeks are stretched out in front of me and I HAVE NOTHING TO FILL THEM. Is this what freedom feels like? I can read a book? I can watch so much TV? I can go to the movies!? I can socialize!?
