The most interesting thing about Clive Barker’s Cabal is who falls on which side of the line. Hi Vanessa: Your post made me like Cabal better. True, the monsters are not the typical bad guys in this story, they're just trying to make a living like all of us. I agree with what you say about the characters being wooden. I was so wrapped up in the characters in The Shining, but here they just seemed like things he needed as recipients (and instigators) of the carnage. Nice essay!
