Tooth fairy: Good or Evil?

So I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. I'm extremely nervous. Extremely. They're going to pull all four of them. I'm hoping they drug me enough to knock me out before, during, and after. I'm freaked out that they won't give me enough and I'll wake up during the procedure. That actually happened to my cousin when he had them taken out a ( Read more... )

Six wisdom teeth removed at once? You're my freakin hero.

I'm just hoping I get some really good drugs to make the after part more manageable. I think their planning on giving me Vicodin...I'll probably be popping enough to put House to shame.

i had "deep sedation" when i had my done and let me tell you, it was kind of awesome. when i woke up afterwards i was all, "wait, did i drift off for a couple minutes? when are we going to get this show on the road?" and then they gave me a prescription for tylenol 3, and so long as i took it at the correct intervals, and i kept icing my jaw, everything was fine. i only had 2 done, but overall, it wasn't a bad experience.

Dude. The first thought I had when I came out of the anesthesia and they told me I was done was, FG was SO right. The last thing I remember before I got knocked out was the doctor asking for suction and me kind of panicking because don't they have to wait till I'm asleep to start? LOL. That plus the laughing gas made the entire experience not bad at all. I wanted to ask them if I could take the laughing gas home with me.

Waiting for the Vicodin to kick in now.

I had all 4 removed a month ago. They knocked me out and removed three impacted teeth and one unimpacted. My suggestion is to make sure you have soft foods around like jello and soup and that you soak the gauze they tell you to put into your mouth with tea. It really helps. *hugs* You'll do fine.

The actual process? Not that bad. When they put the mask on me and made me breath the air that smelled kind of weird, I was like hmmm. And then WOAH. Having one of those slow motion Will Ferrell moments in Old School. Laughing gas? So freaking awesome.

I haven't tried soaking the gauze in tea but I will the next time I have to change the pads. Which is hopefully not soon. So not pretty. But YAY because I have a milkshake and VICODIN to keep me company. Which I think is kicking in now. The vicodin not the milkshake.

Two days of this! I think everyone should get their wisdom teeth removed.

How are you doing? You should have gone to the Philip Glass. That + your drugs, you would have had a positively psychedelic experience! LOL.

Hugs.
