pain = OW

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow to get my two cavities fixed. Or whatever it is they do to cavities. 8:30 am. I think it should be illegal to have doctors and dentists be open that early. Don't they know they should sleep until at least 10 on weekends ( Read more... )

Cavities get filled. :-)

The injections are the Novacaine, non? It's a very quick prick and then the area will be numb. No pain.

I had to get my wisdom extracted (which is worse than getting them pulled as it is more surgery). I insisted on being knocked out...and I was.

Get Tylenol Coedine. That stuff is awesome.

Cavities get filled. :-)

You know, I never knew what that meant. Filled with what? And how do they make it empty before filling it?

Got all my questions answered on Saturday morning along with a mouthful of Novocaine. *G*

I remember that you had to go through the wisdom teeth surgery and came back on all kinds of drugs. There may have been a post. *G*

I still have to get the opinion of the oral surgeon about the teeth but being as they are lying sideways and pushing against other teeth...chances are I'll have to get it done. Hopefully not right now, there is no way I'm going through the holidays drugged to the eyeballs. At least not to prevent the pain. ;-)

That sounds like your wisdom teeth are impacted as that's exactly what I had. They were coming in sideways and pushing against my back molars.

Trust me - request to be knocked out and make sure that your drug prescription is filled out before hand. It took me about 2 or 3 weeks to heal, but that's because I was a moral and didn't wait for my mouth to heal completely and I damaged one of my healing gums. I was off the drugs by day 3. May have to see how long you can wait, because all you'll be able to eat are soft foods (um, jello and pudding basically, and soup) for a while after that surgery.

I was a moron, not a moral. Although the moron of ths story is also: make sure that someone is there to take you home because you will still be drugged up to the gills. Also get a shake on the way home, because you can have that, so long as you only have little amounts of it at a time.

Poor ming.

I fully admit that having my wisdom teeth pulled was no picnic but I also know everyone's different. While M and I had the not fun experience, one of our other friend's had all four pulled and almost no pain afterwards. Needless to say, we remain bitter. ;p

If they do have to go, I hope you have the easy and painless kind.

*hugs you tight*

I thought the pain was a given for everyone, it's nice to know not. Here's hoping that there is no pain for me!

How is your back doing? Better I hope. I miss our chats! Will email soon.

I'm with Reg, cavities being filled aren't all that painful. Touch uncomfortable, as there's people's hands in your mouth, and there's the noise, but it doesn't hurt.

Yeha it really wasn't. And I have a nice dentist and there were cartoons on tv while i was getting the fillings...so it wasn't bad at all. The noise was kind of scary though, like a mini chainsaw. *shudders*

Hope you're feeling better! *HUGS*
