In Which Duty Days Lead To Experiments

Jan 25, 2011 01:13

So, since I've spent the day alone, cleaning, and bored, one would think I would go to sleep when nighttime fell, if only to get to tomorrow faster. Not so. No, instead, I sit up watching crappy television and drafting experiments. Tonight's experiment:
Do Pickles Cause Nightmares?
I am prone to nightmares. I am also prone to eating pickles. What can I say, I'm a salt addict. So when my mind called up the vaguely remembered idea that pickles cause nightmares, I decided to put it to the test.
In memory of all my science teachers in elementary school, I will conduct this experiment via
THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD
*fanfare*

So here it is:
1.) Define the Question:
The question is: do pickles cause nightmares, if you eat them before bed.
2.) Gather information and resources:
I asketh Lord Google about said question, and basically came back with "There's no conclusive scientific data ."
I chuckled to myself. "Until now, Google. Until now."
3.) Form hypothesis:
I don't think pickles cause nightmares, I really don't. I've eaten pickles my whole life, and I've had nightmares my whole life, and yet I can never remember linking the two in my mind. So my hypothesis is that there will be no nightmares.
4.) Perform experiment and collect data:
So, that's tonight. I ate two normal sized dill pickles, watched South Park/Cake Boss and played Farmerama. I wanted to be sure that there wasn't any nightmare-fuel that could mess with my sleeping, although some of the giant-eyed animals on Farmerama might slip into frightening territory. I'm not going to take any Hydroxyzine or anything, but am otherwise attending to my normal bedtime routine.

So tomorrow I'll have the results of this rigorous experiment for you, here on your Livejournal friend page.
Don't go away.

(Disclaimer: I am not drunk, and I am so sorry you guys are my friends.)

nightmares, pickles, was that a good idea, why am i still awake, bored, experiment
