I am currently drooling over the 40-disc Buffy complete series box set. It is around $180 US and I am contemplating spending it; I was over at a friend's and she had all seven seasons and I couldn't sleep so I watched episodes most of the night.
I think I'll either buy it when I get back to the States; it's much cheaper there...or I'll wait, and it will be my gift to myself on turning in my thesis. But waiting will be very difficult.
And to think, I was dragged kicking and screaming into this show in grade 9 or 10.
I know.... I watched the entirety of Season Two in ten days and it simply broke my heart. Can you believe this: two days ago I stood in HMV clutching the last copy they had of Season 5 (which I have yet to see!!!! I just finished Season 4 last week!!). It was on sale for 30 bucks. I thought, "Do I REALLY need this? Can I justify unneccesary spending? When I can just borrow it from someone else or get a friend to download it? Be responsible. You do not deserve this." So I let it go, and bought season 2 for my mom instead. I awoke yesterday and realized the extent of my mistake - so I rushed back to the store, and of course, some lucky soul had gotten there before me. Sometimes I can't believe the things that Jewish spendthrift guilt will make us do. But there it is. Apalling. I'd say: buy the box set. In the end, it's just another figure on the credit card bill. You will have it for life. Priceless.
I was in HMV today and all the seasons were either 20 or 30 bucks each. And the box set, with tax, would have been $90+ more...so I was very bad, and now own each individual season. I miss out on the bonus disc, but I don't care, because I have them NOW. :D

After this I need to get started on Battlestar Galactica - I'm told it will change my life. Any other reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

What's even WORTH talking about other than Hugh Laurie?
