Sarah... I had no idea your mother taught at Dawson, but I'm inexpressably relieved that she's ok. I'm so saddened for the whole community. I spent my afternoon in a newsroom where hysterical footage came at me in stereo from dozens of tv sets. I hope the community relies on its cohesiveness and is able to heal.

Thank the good Goddess you and your mom are alright. Images of the 1989 massacre at l'École Polytechnique kept running through my mind. The front page of the Toronto Star was horrific today. As an employee at U of T, I'm bone-shaken.
