Try living in the South. We've got rabid football fanatics around here. Football is WAY more important than education in the eyes of most people. (Most of these think Bear Bryant is a canonized saint and want to stone you if you say otherwise.) It's ridiculous. My high school football team sucked. They won less than ten games in the four years I was there. But they got WAY more money than the band, or the academic clubs. And our academic clubs were awesome. We won competitions like whoa.

^ doesn't that suck?

I was contemplating starting a universal facebook group for people in support of cutting football money and giving it to actual education programs instead.

I have nothing against football- I think it's fun to go to games and I still miss being a cheerleader. I just think y'know... I'm going to school for school!

Exactly! Football is NOT going to really help you out in the long run. If I have to go to the hospital, I don't want my doctor to know the football scores for the last eighty-two billion games played. I want him to know how to diagnose and treat my illness. You know?

Did you see the editorial I posted from my school's paper justifying one of our coaches being the highest paid public servant in the state or something like that?

It's insane. Sports come first here...especially basketball. Don't fucking touch Indiana's basketball, gah.
