Days sure flew by. It's already a new year or rather a few days into a new year. But the expression: "same old, same old" seems to apply aptly. LOL yes, I'm talking about morbid fascination with everything ghei. It's unbelievable the number of novels I lapped up like hungry dogs would its meal. But because of that I'm fast becoming jaded of the things I read. Reason being even though the plots I encountered or chosen to read have somewhat great varieties, the story seemed to progress with unremarkable similarities. I want a quality read *lament*

Anyway, another problem presented itself. When situation in RL gets ugly, I found myself repeatedly thinking or wishing that I live a different kind of life, much like the characters and life settings found in the novels. Well, many people might have engage in the type of day dreaming I did but they probably didn't get anxious and depressed over their RL in the process. More importantly I should be reminded, unrealistic comparison and high expectation never realises dream the way hard work does.

And I've been pondering how nice it would be to have an Asian m-m romance writer to write story set in Asian countries and major cities such as Tokyo (Ya0i novel isn't as realistic as m-m romance does), Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore or Jakarta. It would be a great and drastic change in the characters' personalities and way of life. Individualism vs collectivism. Maybe then I won't covet (or dream of) for having my own perfect, little, quiet and humble abode because for some of the cities I mentioned above, majority of the middle-class live like sardine, i.e. big house is a luxury. Morover homosexuality is still taboo (or greatly frowned upon) in such societies, so no HFN/HEA ending for romantic life story there.
