In A Teacher--

The things you look for in a Teacher: Intelligence and talent, of course. Responsibility, professionalism, but still the ability to have fun. They should actually enjoy teaching.
The things you don't want in a Teacher: Arrogance, lack of responsibility, favoritism, and thinking that everyone learns the same way.
Things you'd like to learn/acquire from being with your Teacher: Aside from learning the basics of ninjutsu/genjutsu/taijutsu, I hope to gain confidence in my ability to protect those who depend on me.

Scenario-Time

You're told who your Sensei will be and you find out they're someone that you don't think you'll get along with at all. What do you do and how do you handle the news? Throw out my first impressions and give them a chance. If I judge them without knowing how we work together I’m only sabotaging our chances of getting along.
Your Sensei plays the "bell game" like Kakashi did to Team 7. What do you do? Ask my teammates for their ideas and let them try. If they succeed I'll respect them, but if they fail I'll explain why my idea is better and they should have listened to me in the first place. My methods are all about stealth and deception.
Your Sensei ties up the "loser" and tells you and your Team that they aren't allowed to eat. They're obviously starving. What do you do and how do you hope your Sensei will react to your choice? Loudly proclaim that I hate my food, turn around, and toss it over my shoulder so it ‘happens’ to land in the loser’s hands. Of course I could just hand it to them, but this would be happening early on so I want to show my sensei exactly what kind of person I am. I hope they will be pleased with my choice or at least accept it - if not, they’re not someone I want to spend any more time with.
Your Sensei's goals are something you object to - strongly. What are they and how do you react? The only thing I can think of that I’d strongly object to is betrayal of someone who doesn’t seem to deserve it. I would walk away and not look back. I refuse to fight for something I don’t believe in.
Your Sensei treats you unfairly in your mind - what do you do? Ask them flat out if there’s a point to the way they treat me. If they feel there’s some lesson to be learned from it, then I’ll accept that and put up with it - although I won’t enjoy it. If they fail to convince me that they have any motivation outside of malice, I simply respond in the same manner.

Anything else?
Probably, but I’m too lazy to think about it.
