In A Teacher--
The type of Teacher/Sensei I hope to be is: One who teaches by example. I’m strict because I hold my students to the same high standards I have for myself. I want to be someone they can aspire to be like.
The type of Teacher/Sensei I don't hope to be: The kind that cares more about being liked by the students than teaching them what they need to know.
The type of Teacher/Sensei my students would see me as is: Tough but fair. I expect a lot from my students but I’m not mean and I won’t neglect to reward their successes.
Things you'd like to have your students learn from you: The basic skills of course, but I’d focus more on teaching them to use their intellect on missions. Being able to fight is important but it’s useless without having intelligence and cunning.
Scenario-Time
You're told you've given a team of slackers. Your three students that you're supposed to teach "the ninja way" just won't get motivated. How do you handle this? I have no patience for people who aren’t willing to apply themselves. If they don’t want to learn then I don’t want to bother with them.
You've got two of your students who just can't seem to get along. They pay more attention to fighting each other than you - how do you handle this? Arrange a fight between the two of them and another team that cooperates well. Let them see what they could be if they would at least set aside their differences while they’re supposed to be working together.
What's the first lesson you would give to your students -- think of Kakashi and the bells? Something to test their creativity and ability to come up with a plan on the fly.
Your students won't listen - how do you handle this? If they don’t want to learn from me that’s not my problem. If they think they don’t need any help I’ll send them on a difficult mission on their own and see how long it takes them to get killed. Oh, I’d pop up at the last second to save their sorry asses. And then I’d make it very clear that they get no more chances so they’d better pay attention when I’m teaching.
What would be your deciding factors to entering your team into the Chuunin Exams? Because I have such high standards I would probably never think they were ready. Because I know I tend to expect too much I would give them my evaluation of their skill and let them make the decision. If possible I would arrange practice matches so they can compare their abilities to those of others.
