Chapter 1

“Jaejoong” Yunho whispered softly in the dark. From where Jaejoong was standing, he couldn’t see Yunho’s face but he was perfectly sure that it was him. His voice was so familiar to Jaejoong’s ears that there was no mistake it was Yunho.

Jaejoong slowly walked towards the voice of the man he had suspected to be Yunho. His heart was thundering inside him as he made each step closer to him. After walking a few steps, he could clearly see Yunho. The man was really Yunho; his handsome face, tall and slightly muscular body, and that cheerful aura that always seemed to emanate from him. He was smiling at Jaejoong.

Jaejoong’s heart threatened to burst out from joy of seeing the man that he loved dearest. Unable to control himself anymore, he attempted to lock Yunho in his embrace but all he felt was the cold air. Empty, that was how Jaejoong felt at the moment.

“It was all just a dream again.” Jaejoong said as he opened his eyes again for another day spent without Yunho. It had been almost two years since he was mysteriously gone. There was no trace of him anywhere. He didn’t even leave a message to Jaejoong. One day, he just disappeared from Jaejoong’s life like a bubble.

No matter how much pain Yunho had left Jaejoong, he couldn’t hate the man. Yunho was everything to Jaejoong, and it remained like that. His love never changed though time had already passed and Yunho was still missing in his life. Jaejoong held on to what little hope he still got that one day, Yunho would come back to him and that he had a very good reason why he left him.

As part of his daily routine, Jaejoong got up from bed and immediately took a bath. The refreshing feeling that the water gave made him forget about his dream earlier. He dreaded that the dreams would haunt him again in his sleep. It had been months since he stopped dreaming about Yunho. Jaejoong’s dream of Yunho earlier slightly alarmed him of continuous dreams for the upcoming nights.

Once out of the bathroom, he randomly picked clothes from his closet and put them on. He then proceeded to the kitchen to make himself some coffee. After finishing his cup of coffee, he left his house to go to work.

Another of Jaejoong’s daily routine was to walk from his house to the bus stop. As he trod on the familiar road to the bus stop, everything was still the same. He always passed by the same houses every day. He saw the faces of the same group of people doing the same thing. But nothing was the same to Jaejoong anymore since Yunho left him.

Finally reaching the bus stop after a few minutes of walking, he was just in time as he saw the bus slowly coming to a halt. He boarded it quickly and seated himself comfortably in an empty seat by the window. Different thoughts ran through Jaejoong’s mind as he gazed blankly outside the window. He didn’t bother with these thoughts and just sat there as he silently watched the buildings pass by.

Jaejoong worked as a photographer for a modelling agency in Seoul. He had been there for almost two years already. He got that job with the help of Yunho. Yunho worked as a model before he mysteriously disappeared a year ago.

As he entered the company’s building, he immediately went to one of the studios because they were having a photo shoot that morning. The models were already there, being dressed by the stylist in gorgeous clothes, and the make-up artist dabbing make-up on their faces.

“Good morning everyone!” Jaejoong greeted cheerfully at the others with a warm smile.

“Jaejoong hyung!” Junsu called out happily.

“Hi there Junsu.” Jaejoong said and looked around to find Yoochun and Changmin. “Where are Yoochun and Changmin?”

“They just went to buy something to eat. Changmin complained a while ago about being hungry. Well, you know him. He can’t work with an empty stomach.” Junsu answered.

“Oh. Well, they better hurry up because we should start in a couple of minutes.” Jaejoong said while looking at his watch. Junsu, Yoochun, and Changmin were all models in the agency that Jaejoong was working in. A few seconds had just passed since Jaejoong spoke when Changmin went inside carrying a plastic bag full of food with Yoochun beside him.

“Hi hyung!” Changmin and Yoochun greeted merrily at Jaejoong who looked slightly worried.

“What am I going do with you two?” Jaejoong smiled at them and sighed. “You two should change immediately. We will be starting soon.”

“Okay.” Both of them obediently followed and changed into the outfits for the photo shoot. After thirty minutes of preparation, the models were fully dressed in their stylish clothing and ready for their pictures to be taken by Jaejoong.

The men were dressed in formal suits while the women were in gowns. They were paired with each other and were given directions by Jaejoong.

“Okay. Closer, the two of you.” Jaejoong ordered as he peered on the camera and took various shots of Changmin and one of the female models.

“Changmin, hold her closer to your body.” Jaejoong said. Changmin obeyed and held the female model closer to him. This suddenly reminded him of something.

“Jaejoong, let’s go eat.” Yunho said happily and took Jaejoong’s hand.
“I don’t want to.” Jaejoong answered stubbornly and took his hand hastily from Yunho. He seemed to be pissed about something.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Yunho asked because Jaejoong was acting weird.

“N-nothing.” Jaejoong denied quickly. The scene earlier was still etched on his mind.

“You know that I don’t buy what you’re saying right now.” Yunho said. “I know you too well to know that you’re lying right now.”

Knowing that he couldn’t win against the psychic Yunho, he told him what was bothering him. “You deliberately held that girl close to you earlier. I didn’t even tell you to do that. And you were clearly enjoying your close distance.”

“Oho! We have a jealous person over here.” Yunho said, getting amused with Jaejoong’s accusations.

“I’m not jealous!” Jaejoong quickly denied. “It’s j-just that, you were not following my orders. I’m the head photographer and you should do as I say. That’s all.”

Yunho laughed heartily at the flustered Jaejoong. “There’s no point in denying Jae. I can see right through you.”

“Hmpf. You can say all you want, but I’m not jealous.”

“Oh, yes you are ~~~~” Yunho said in a sing-song voice.

“No, I’m not!” Jaejoong retorted.

“Yes you are.” Yunho was not going to give up.

“I said I’m not jealous!” Jaejoong said, getting frustrated.

“Oh, Jae. Just admit it. You’re jealous because you love me.” Yunho said and grinned mischievously.

“So what if I’m jealous?” Jaejoong finally gave up. “I have all the right to be jealous.”

“See? I was right, you are jealous.” Yunho said and smiled at the furious Jaejoong. “I’m sorry for doing that. I just thought that it would seem much more real if we were closer. I promise to not do that again.”

“Well, the picture was great.” Jaejoong admitted silently.

“So, I’m forgiven then?” Yunho asked hopefully.

Jaejoong sighed. He really couldn’t resist Yunho. He mentally took note of practicing resisting Yunho’s charms. “Yes, you’re forgiven. But don’t you dare do that again.”

“I won’t. And you shouldn’t be worried about those kinds of things.” Yunho said and gazed at Jaejoong’s beautiful eyes. “My heart only belongs to you and no one else.”

“Jaejoong hyung? Are you alright?” Changmin asked as he saw Jaejoong space out. Jaejoong quickly regained his composure and snapped out from his trance. He quickly apologized to the others and resumed the task at hand.

After a whole day of taking photos, changing clothes, retouching of make-up and styling of hair, the photo shoot was finally finished.

“Good work everyone!” Jaejoong said as they were all fixing their things to retire for the day. They all said goodbye to each other and went on their separate ways.

Walking to the bus stop felt good to Jaejoong’s fatigued body. It was very tiring being a photographer. Stretching a bit was soothing for his muscles. What he wanted the most was to reach his home and feel the comfort of his waiting bed.

Jaejoong was near the company building owned by one of the many tycoons in Seoul. He always walked past it on his way to the bus stop. He saw three men outside the entrance to the building. Two of them looked like business men who probably worked in that company. They were middle aged men. The remaining of the three had his back on Jaejoong. They were saying farewell to each other as they shook hands.

Knowing that it was one of those instances of sealing a joint venture in business, or a new investor, Jaejoong was about to continue walking but abruptly stopped when the man that had his back on him earlier turned around. He was a tall man on his 20’s. His sleek black suit was perfect on him. He had a small and handsome face.

“Yunho” Jaejoong said as he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. It was no mistake. The man was indeed Yunho.
