NARUTO 690: NINJAS...!!!

While there are still warm temperatures on the horizon, the scent of fall is in the air already. Apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, Halloween...all elements of my favorite time of the year. After reading this latest chapter, the reality of Naruto's end is sinking in. Wow. How may weeks, months, years have I spent reading and enjoying the ( Read more... )

IS THAT ALL?

I agree completely. So anticlimactic. IMO Kaguya had no point other than to "declaw" Madara, so to speak. He was winning until Kishi replaced him with another villain he could use as a cheap throwaway.

MADARA

I hope he no longer has the Rinnegan and that he will not do Rinne Tensei. PLEASE, NO MORE RINNE TENSEI. I doubt he's going to be a threat again, and I would like him to make his peace with Hashirama without Naruto speaking to him, but there you are. I wonder though, if he has to undo the Tsukuyomi somehow or if it will happen naturally.

CRAZY THEORY ABOUT THE TAILED BEASTS

I don't see this happening.

OROCHIMARU

I don't really think there will be time for another villain, and I expect the manga to end with chapter 700. But you never know.

OROCHIMARU
I don't think there will be time for another villain either. I just really want to know what happens to him. Maybe not 700, but close to it.

MADARA
I don't think he will be a threat either, but his rinnegan will come into play somehow. Like you I hope he doesn't revive all the war dead, but the precedent has already been set by Nagato. I am expecting it now. And if it happens? Oh well, I'll just live with it.

I didn't think Kaguya's defeat was anticlimactic. Yes, they'd only been fighting Kaguya a short time, but she was more or less just one more incarnation of the same threat that they've been fighting for...well, I don't feel like counting the chapters, but a very VERY long time. Anyway, to me, the timing feels just right. There are still some loose ends to tie up, such as what will become of Madara, how Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry will be resolved (I agree there will probably be some kind of fight, but I'm hoping it's more of a friendly spar than a true fight), and how the ninja world and Konoha in particular will recover from all that has happened. It might be wrapped up by chapter 700, or it might not. Regardless, the manga's ending does feel very close now.

I'm not sure what will happen to the Tailed Beasts, but I have to say, I like your idea. I'd like to see them have their freedom, and at the same time eliminate the need for Jinchuuriki.

You could say Obito, Madara, and Kaguya were the same villain played by three different actors. Agree with you, the timing is right.

Agree, Naruto Vs. Sasuke won't be a fight of enemies but of true rivals. Expect Sasuke to acknowledge Naruto as his equal. He may even put on his headband to fight him. I wonder, does Naruto still have it?

Glad you like my idea about the Tailed Beasts :)

Yes, I like that way of putting it!

I actually wondered whether chapter 690 was the last chapter, as chapter 691 was late, but apparently we will get a few more chapters to wrap things up. I don't think that there will be another arc. Kaguya was a bit disappointing, as she was no more human, but you cannot top her.

I'm wondering if she was introduced just to get Naruto and Sasuke to work together to defeat her. Ashura and Indra went their separate ways and created Senju and Uchiha. The goal with Kaguya was to unite Ashura and Indra in their current forms and to break the cycle of hate/war.
