"....true peace will come when opposing forces work together. "
Exactly right.
"If Naruto and Sasuke can each recognize the validity of the other's concerns and address those in whatever plan for reform they come up with, then and only then will such a plan be able to succeed. The question is whether they'll be able to figure this out without having to blast each other in the face with jutsu first."
I think in the end this is what will happen, I hope :), but not after they exchange fisticuffs. I can't imagine them meeting at VOTE and not fighting at all.
While I'm really looking forward to hearing what Sasuke thinks being Hokage means, I'm also a little scared considering killing the Gokage is part of his plan.
"No women is under any obligation to accept a man just because he really really loves her"
- I have to disagree here, the creepy stalker approach has worked out quite well for Obito. One of the main themes of this manga seems to be "you can get it if you really want" so I'm afraid the story will end in pure wish-fulfillment for teenage boys. Naruto the underdog will get the girl/the Hokage seat and wins over that cool popular guy from school in the overblown version of a playground brawl.
Well, yes, in this story things are a bit different than in real life. I think I remember that someone mentions that it's a bit creepy that Rin finally accepts Obito.
And of course, you have forgotten one important point: In the new generation it will be the girls who get the boy they love because they stayed true to him even though he was busy with a lot of other problems. Hinata will get Naruto, and Sakura will get Sasuke. Only Naruto has to accept that Sakura is not in love with him (and I think he has accepted this a long time ago.)
