If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways

yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there ( Read more... )

1980? You spoiled little rat-bastard! HA.... try growing up in the 50's or the 60's........cable? something you connected electrical wires with. Remote? Living somewhere far away from everyone else. Didn't have tv in the house until around 1965, and the only thing decent on for a 10 year old kid was Combat, Rawhide, and ABC Saturday Morning with Bugs Bunny! Spongebob Squarepants? He would have been laughed out of the country. and school, when the buses were running (long before duct tape) we had a school house in the country, with a mom-pop teacher set up, she taught the first three grades in one room, he taught the "bigger class (4, 5, & 6) in another room, we brought our lunches on homemade bread, had to stir up the peanut butter to even out the oil, and were lucky to get one soda every two weeks if you got to go into town to do the shopping with the folks. Add this to the fact that there were six boys in my family, Dad was a Gypsy mechanic, so he went where the jobs were, and we had round steak about once every other month ( ... )

thanks sooooo much!

I LOVE THIS POST and I LOVE YOU...hehehehe

I am 40. I grew up in Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming. Where, even today, they are at least 15 years behind everyone else....so I completely appreciate all you've had to say!

Hey I had PONG!!! That predated Atari 2600... I loved my Pong... I loved my Atari... I never did see Nitendo or any of that crap b/c my folks were like... deal with it you already have TWO systems. *snicker* DJ actually played my old pong once and he thought it was cool, like the "Old Wooden Indian" (a throwback nickle candy store and tabacco shop that still exists in my hometown). I think he was searching for the word "nostalgic" but he was only 7 at the time. LOL!

Thanks for posting this, I also peed in my sarong.

Oh and being from MI, I still had to walk to school 2 miles in the snow! It sucked. Although sometimes my dad would shovel the path for us and sometimes my neighbor's big brother would give us a ride on his snow mobile. *grins* I miss those days.

Yeah, we had it so bad in the 60's & 70's growing up. Did you go crusing on Fridays & Saturdays? We did downtown Bremerton, We ruled the Food King parking lot. Occasionally we would go do the Renton loop.

The days of cheap drugs and 8 track tapes.

We mostly hung out at the Old Herfy's in White Center, and yes the Renton loop was a occasional visit.
