Unfortunately hotel guest have to pay for parking too...which I think is ridiculous since we are already paying so much for the room. Not mention on top of the room you pay a 15 dollar "resort fee" for internet or other stuff.

If you can carpool with someone, I would. That way you can split the cost. You may find so low cost or free parking alternatives around the hotel. I am not actually from Nashville, so I would have not idea how to look. I have a friend who use the Opry Mills Parking lot when she went to scope out the hotel.

I was going to park there in September when the hotel was hosting the Vampire Dairies Convention, but it was closed. The theater reopen there last month so there might be a possibility you can park there but I am not sure for how long.

I hope this helps.

Now I just has to look into which hotel I want to stay at.

There are several hotels just across McGavock from Opryland, though their rates are still not great. As for parking, if they had left the con in July as it was supposed to be, Opry Mills would have been open again and the free parking would be available. Unfortunately, the theater is on the complete other end of the mall from Opryland so the parking in and around the resort will not be accessible yet. Some of the hotels may have complimentary shuttles to the resort since that's the whole reason they exist, but I'm not sure which ones.

Thanks for the info about the location of the theater. That's definitely something to keep in mind.

Yes, hotel guests do have to pay for parking, unfortunately. :( It is very expensive to stay there, but I'd actually highly recommend it in this case. The place is so large it's basically like a small town on its own. It was really convenient to not have to drive to the con every morning, and there are restaurants and shops inside. (And despite what you would think, SOME of the restaurants are pretty reasonably priced.)
