So, I just got cable. And I was flipping through channels, minding my own business, thinking, "oh, this Cake Boss guy might be fun to watch" and an ad comes on. There's this little red headed child. And she's screaming. There's something about red-recognising? And I'm sitting there, blinking at the television, wondering where the pretty cakes have

Just don't ever go there. It's a terrifying show.
Currently, I'm watching The Walking Dead, Supernatural, Agents of SHIELD, and Dancing With the Stars. I also try to catch Big Bang Theory and Glee. I plan to start watching Almost Human when it begins to air on November 4. It's the show I'm most excited about, with TWD second, SHIELD third, and SpN fourth. The others I can take or leave.
But I'm serious. If you can, BLOCK that Honey Boo Boo shit (although at least the mom is smart enough to bank all of that money for her childrens' college educations, instead of spending it now. That's the one redeeming thing about the show, which I have never actually watched more than ten seconds of, and only when I flipped past it by accident.)

Is Agents of SHIELD good? I've got the first couple of episodes but I haven't gotten around to watching yet!
Good on her mum for saving the money. They pretty much get paid for being themselves on television so, like I said before, power to them. I just don't understand why anyone would watch that.

I'm enjoying Agents of SHIELD, but it seems to be slightly lower-energy than many people were expecting. I'm sticking with it, though. It's a good time, filled with nice little Easter Eggs in each episode (but people who haven't read a lot of the old-school Marvel comics might not get some of them).
I agree - smartest thing Mom could have done for the entire family!

AMC has some good shows, and Bravo has the Top Chef/Master Chef stuff...um....HGTV has the adorable twin brothers who buy and renovate homes, and the adorable New York cousins who do the same, and the wonderful single mom who does the same....
Okay, so, i like to see run-down houses turned into awesome living spaces. :)

I grew up watching 'This Old House' on PBS - guys from New England fixing up 300 year old houses, it was awesome.
It kind of set me up for life for watching that kind of stuff. It makes me feel ever so slightly in the know.
