She's always insisted that I never come to Cheyenne to see her, always tried to talk me out of coming to her band's concerts. Just in general the feeling that something was being hidden and that not everything was being said ( Read more... )

That just strikes me as unbelievably sick and twisted. I am sorry you were caught up in this person's delusions of what a relationship actually means.

My fault for believing that someone could see the concept of what love really means. And, for taking her at her word.

Phil, I'm so sorry. :-( Try not to beat yourself up with the "it's my faults", okay? We all make mistakes in love, but I like to think that for people like you and me (read: good people), it's more that our hearts are so open and willing to love those who may otherwise be unlovable. Of course, the trick for the future is to remember your lessons, try not to repeat them, and then do what makes you happiest. *hugs*

It isn't your fault, and people can and do know what love really means. She apparently doesn't, but she isn't all that common I'd say.

And as for taking her at her word... You can't walk into a relationship and NOT trust. If you do, it isn't a relationship. It's fucked up that that sometimes means getting a knife (or chainsaw) in the back, but that isn't your fault for trusting, it's their fault for not being worthy of that trust.

And I have to agree with the nature of other comments here... you are a great guy, and very deserving of love and a truly good relationship.

You've just been having a shity month it seems... if I was there I'd treat you to some good food and good beer. Maybe someone else will in my place.
