well..im no longer employed..

so jus wonderin if anyone knew bout the whole receiving unemployment..

or..
if theres a job out there that wud be ok with a work schedule of one day a week..??

From what I remember, you can only receive unemployment if you were actually laid off by a company against your own will (and you weren't fired), not if you terminate your employment willingly.

You had to be a full time employee IIRC.

One of coworkers would have recieved it since the Valet company was going to fire him for not showing up to work. However, his name wasn't on the schedule , and they switched it on him when he was on vacation. So he would have been terminated outside his own power.

Well, you can try relief jobs at the hospitals (USA's, clerical staffing), Or there's always bartending on sundays.

hmmm that doesn't really make sense, my brother recieves unemployment because he quit his job to attend school in sacramento for heavy machinery. O_o;

Everytime he's been out of a job he's collected unemployment checks...

even his girlfriend who left her one job to move out here to fremont recieved them too

I believe you are only eligible for unemployment if you involuntarily lost your job, so quitting would make a person not eligible. You also have to be able to work, be seeking work, and willing to accept a suitable job. I guess they don't like to dish out unemployment checks to people who aren't actively searching for a job.

But hey, if you can work more than one day a week, like nights and specifically weekends, there are jobs out there!

yo. apply for waitressing jobs. they require a minimum of one weekday and one weekend shift. and if you get into a high class one, the pay is pretty decent after tips. with that said, make sure the place allows you to keep all your own tips vs splitting it with everyone else!
