The confused students at Sheffield University have staged another meaningless protest. Though their heart is in the right place, they are definitely sending out a mixed message.

I see it all the time, after spending eight years marooned in two different universities, with designs on joining a third - the usual method of student politics is protest first, think later. Actually, thinking is optional - maybe even actively discouraged.

If I was the lecturer I'd have told them to fuck right off.
