I hear ya about the friend thing. There's this weird kind of limbo that can exist where it's hard to meet people if you're not into the traditional places where people meet people...or something. Especially in a new town. Maybe you'd meet some cool people at the comic book store!
SV is actually looking interesting but I haven't finished last season yet, either. It was supposed to be on this weekend's agenda as part of the 'things to do before Merlin' plan but I got sidetracked and watched every ep of Desperate Romantics instead, which I would highly recommend - pre-Raphaelites are sexy!

I've never even heard of Desperate Romantics. Sample clips available somewhere? I did watch some Merlin. I totally see why they were calling it the new SV.

Ah, yes, Merlin is very much a (vaguely) medieval SV>. Intentionally so. Only this time, the major slash OTP is actually the only pairing left standing at the end of the story (well, unless you count Gwen/Lancelot, I guess). That was the initial appeal for me but I love the show on its own merit now, plus the actors are IMPOSSIBLE to dislike and so fan-accessible that you really do get two sets of characters for the price of one. Bradley even made a little slash vs RPS joke this weekend! Without any kind of malice or disdain! *draws hearts around them forever*
OH! I have finally finished SV and am ready for the new season now. Not happy with some of it (won't spoil just in case you really HAVE been living in a black hole and don't know yet), love other parts (mainly involving Lois) and ( ... )
