Those persimmons in Japan would make you gasp at the $$.
There is a particular type of grape that I believe grows in the US & Japan - big huge round deep purple-black grapes that apparently taste like all the faux grape flavor in candy/gum etc.. I say apparently as they were in season when I was in Japan & a bunch about the size of your average punnet of strawberries was about AUD$35!!!!!!
So I loathe to think what those persimmons are worth. We grow them in the backyard & common as our variety is we still see them for $3-4 each at the Vic Market when in season..
I'll admit I'm not a big cheese eater at the best of times, though my Dad is and would probably give it a go as long as he didn't know it was riddled with bug shit. The rest sound enticing though :-)
