So after a full month with no internet here at the lake, we're finally up and running and WOAH it's supa fast!!! Kaleb's registered for kindergarten and starts a week from tomorrow. I'm both nervous and excited for him, positively speaking, but I know putting him on that bus next Wednesday is gonna put me in internal freakout mode. All smiles, sure

How far do you let him roam? I am on the fence about this one; his "best friend" is a 7yo next door who has a little more freedom than him. I'd like to give him more, but I want it to go to HIM, and not just because he is with an older kid (who, quite frankly, I trust less than my son.) I have been thinking of the 2-way radio for a while; my parents used to do that with my brother. Does K ride a bike? How far do you let him ride? How about crossing the street? All this is shit I was doing by Alejandro's age, but combo "times have changed" + different neighborhood + he has younger siblings...I just am so overwhelmed by it.
I don't know about a bug-preventing thing, but if you can believe it, I have this little bottle of liquid topical benadryl that takes the swell away & the itching almost immediately. I'm not in love with benadryl in general, but since I never give it to them orally I figure whatever. I can't find the stuff on their website, though.

Or wait, this is easierSo, we live on Terrence. I let him roam Terrence, Rose, and Blanche. Regardless of it being a kid packed neighborhood where everybody knows each other and watches out for the kidlets, I want him off the entrances into the neighborhood. They just seem so far away and with all the yards being fenced, I have no immediate or quick access to North Lakeshore or Brady ( ... )
