Milk

Did you know that organic milk lasts a month after being opened, when regular milk only lasts a week? In fact, if unopened, organic milk can last for 6 months on the shelf, without refrigeration! Fascinating!
Scientific American explains.

Ага, у меня на работе холодильник отключился. Так я думала, что сливки уже испортились за сутки, а нет! :))) В комнатной температуре сутки простояли ;)))

interesting, thanks!

also for those who want to buy a milk that last only 2-3 days there is a "raw" milk (i.e. unpasteurized ) in stores like Mothers Market

yeah, I've tried it a couple of times and never really had any "tummy" problems. Would you say you've had good experience with that?

yep. it tastes differently, no "tammy" problems. The only problem that it stays only for a couple of days, but if have any milk left u can pasteurize it by heating it.
Also, there is a goat's raw milk, it stays longer because it contains more fat in it. (that's what I buy, b because it is sold in smaller bottels, just enough for 1 person )

I'm against pasteurization as it is merely a mechanism to control for lazy or careless stores and transportation services, and it makes your food less good for you. also unpasteurized stuff just plain tastes better (get some unpasteurized orange juice at mothers sometime and compare to whatever you normally drink).

Edit - I do understand the need for pasteurization, its just given a choice between less and more, I want less.

I actually don't really drink milk, I like soy milk :)
I use a bit of regular milk for my hot oatmeal, that's all. Unfortunately, we don't have Mother's here in central PA :(

И тогда я схватил себя за волосы и потянул что есть силы вверх, так я вытащил себя и коня из болота.
