Or, at least, all the code, graphics, music, and sound for the game is done. Still need to print some stuff, not to mention, you know, RUNNING the game. :)
Speaking of which, here's idea I've been wanting to mention to you:
do you know anything about programming for OS X? I have an idea for a tiny piece of shareware that I'd personally love to have, and I think could also be popular. basically i just want to be able to drag a bounding box around a web video (or anything) and have that portion scale up to full screen. OS X can already zoom the screen, it's just a question of taking those bounding box coordinates and making them an input for the zoom function. It might even be something I can do in applescript, but probably not. Any ideas?
Actually, this game works fine on a Mac, in fact, I wrote and tested the whole thing on an iMac.
However, I actually know very little about the Mac OS X APIs. I'm sure what you're suggesting can be done, but it's going to take someone with a serious internal knowledge of Mac OS X to be able to do it. Personally, I tend to just learn whatever libraries work the same way on every platform (OpenGL, SDL, etc).
The game's definitely going to be available for public download, or at least, the software part of it. One thing you may not realize about Fire on High is that it's not just a computer game, though. It's actually a theater-style LARP which uses a lot of computer-assisted effects. Running it requires 15-20 players, 5 computers, and a video projector. :)
I'd definitely love for you to play it, though. We're probably going to be running it at Brandeis University sometime in the nearish future (either April, if the Intercon run of it goes well, or in the fall if the game looks like it needs some changes), if you're interested.
And, yay Facebook! If you haven't already, you should check out Ian Schleifer's Buck's Rock photo gallery on there. :)
Well, it's probably going to run at Brandeis eventually. :) I'm hoping sooner rather than later, but it depends on how it goes at Intercon and how many rewrites we think it needs as a result.
