ok, nate, obviously none of these people know what mandolins are. but, if your not gonna be able to play it any time soon like my husband, then, you may want to get the drums. But if you like practise every day, then maybe you will get as good as him.

You'd be a fool not to get the drums. $500 for a 5 piece like that is hard to pass up. Yamaha is a nice brand too. They're usually well-maufactured with quality instruments. And besides, you're better at drums anyway, you play it more often presumably, so bottom line, just go for it. It may not have a 40 inch ride like Kevin (LMFAO) but I wouldn't mind getting that for Christmas.
