Our house, in the middle of our street.

We have created a place, her and I. A place where we can write to each other, post pictures, respond in kind, leave notes and plan for the future together and it is growing. I like that ( Read more... )

I completely understand the dog, space, city situation. Stacy and I had a 4 bedroom house worth of belongings, and moved to New York City, with 3 dogs. Somehow I managed to find us a place that accepted the dogs, wonderfully I might add, but that didn't change the amount of space we got. What we did was sell A LOT of our stuff on craigslist and in yards sales. This helps two fold, by getting rid of stuff you can't take and putting extra cash in your pocket. Regardless of what you do, good luck.

Thanks man. I was sort of wondering how that worked with you and your dogs. How your dogs were adjusting to the 'city life' as opposed to having backyards and large parks at their disposal etc.

I suppose it really is close to that time where I need to sit down and think to myself, "What stuff can I REALLY not get rid of?" and sell the rest.

But shit, YOU know the problem we Griffin's have!! hahaha. Pack-rats that we are.

Dogs are doing great and luckily for us, I found a place directly adjacent to a park with a actual dog park in it. So, we're out the door and 60 seconds away from off leash action. It's been great. I think they're still adjusting to crossing streets when it's busy but, they'll live.

As for all the stuff. I know, it's tough. I mean, we had a lot of stuff we wanted to keep and just said, it's not needed and we don't have room. Hell, we don't even have tv anymore.

So are you and ?Carey? moving in together or are you just moving up there first into your own place? Sounds like you guys really hit it off.

yeah. we really hit if off. As in... we talk about the future. the far into the future, future when we're in our 80's future.

The idea is to move into my own place up there. We don't want to spoil the courtship phase and I think it's probably better that we have our own space. I've lived with a few of my (now) ex's sooner than we probably should have and it leaves something to be desired.

Good to hear that you found a place so close to a park. That's really great actually. Like a little slice of 'home' for the dogs. Had you some little scruffy dogs, it wouldn't be that big of an issue but your dogs were meant for wide, open spaces :))
