I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that my life, for what it is, is going to be very difficult in the long-term. I'm a shift supervisor at Starbucks and over the last few months have realized that I'm just not very good at ... 'supervising.' Moreso lately due I think in part to a lot of outside (as well as at work) stress but it just doesn' ( Read more... )

You're the page in the book that's slightly tarnished or has a more defined jagged edge. You're the page that feels richer in texture than the others, that has the best quote 56 words in. You don't look like the other pages, and you definitely don't read like them. Even if you were to trim your edge, your page would still be layered with texture, slightly aged with time, and contain the best sentence in the entire story ( ... )

I used to be a shift at caribou coffee up here in minnesota. it's a surprisingly demanding job, especially if you struggle with taking charge and directing the work of other people as much as i did. i had always been of the opinion that grown people shouldn't need me to babysit them for them to do their own job properly, specifically when they've been around long enough to know what is expected of them. my main point however, was going to be that you should have a manager that does more than write you up for daily short-comings. they should be working with you to help you develop the skills to fill your role well ( ... )

give it some time nate, nobody is perfect at every job the day they start it. stick with it and you'll figure it out.
