A Photographic Revolution

Maybe I'm behind the times... maybe. But for the first time ever, I got some digital photos turned into prints at my local Sams Club today. The end result was... simply amazing.

Early on in the digital revolution, I had no faith in the results (uneducated I suppose).

After taking a CD with 190 photos on it, handing it to the girl and saying, "I ( Read more... )

I'm sure Nathan knows, but explain color profiles, sir.

(ps. such a fantastic photograph; I was thinking of sending a print to my mom if that's fine with you.)

Color profiles are the main issue I face with my photography... making it look like it does on your monitor like it does on mine, and getting the print to match that color, etc. Sure you can send your mom a print. Did I ever give you the original file? A print will be much better off of the high resolution file.

Can you email it? I don't think I got one. That would be awesome. Thanks Josh.

Wow! Those are good! I am impressed and curious as to whether or not the sam's club here does that well of a job printing. I've gotten prints through kodak and walgreen's and I trust neither. I mainly just keep my files digital or settle for a 4x6 out of my personal epson.

What digital camera do you have?

Well, only when I have access to Carey's camera :p
My old Powershot A40 is a piece of sh*t at this point. The buttons stick, the batteries last about 10mins etc. When Carey and I are together, we use her camera for a quick photo here and there.

The only reason I haven't posted anything to Flickr is because Carey has her own Flickr page that she's put them all one :p I figure why double post.

Someday... someday, I'll have a working camera again (even if it's a 35mm again) and will get back to taking pictures. For now, I'm stuck with nada with the exception of my polaroid.
