Regardless of everything I've voiced in the last year, she still somehow believed that no matter what, I was going to vote for Obama.. turns out she was right.

Though.... I will freely admit, I still have reservations (for reasons I won't write about here but maybe in conversation one day).

Hey Nathan! I missed having you on my friends list so I added you back. I wanted some more journals to read and you're the one that brought me to lj 7 years ago, after all. I hope you've been well.

Thanks for adding me back to your 'friends' list. I've always felt through all of the last 7yrs (fuck... 7yrs!) that even if I'm not very active on here, it's nice to know that I still hop on and check in on people and continue that 'connection' that merely having a username show up under 'friend of' creates. It was a strange moment when you said, "hey... this isn't working out so see ya."

Truth is, I've always struggled with 'how to use' my LJ. I think only in the very beginning did I use it best, back before anyone was really reading it, back before I was making contacts VIA LJ, back when I was single and sad and creative and thoughtful and had a lot of time on my hands. Since that time, it's been through a lot... my LJ and me.

I'm not very active in online communities much anymore. I don't update MySpace, I don't use my Facebook and my LJ is only updated rarely. Work and Head Project and domestic bliss keep me pretty busy.

And yep, all is certainly well. I think my life has grown into its own. And you as well it seems

Well, it was basically a response to you deleting me first! That hurt my feelings. But it's all done with, I'm over it :)

If you'll read back a few entries, you'll notice I'm struggling to figure out how to use my lj now as well. It was easier when I didn't know so many people in person. I could let go more and say what I thought. Now my words are more filtered, which defeats the point of a journal.

Life is great, Jeff and I are about to move in together in 3 weeks! We are super happy.

But, if I may be so bold, how did your parents vote? Your brother mentioned a while ago during the primary that your Mom liked Obama, and was considering him (while still hating Hilary). Hearing that was the moment I first thought Obama could actually win, so I'm curious what her current opinion of him is.

Also kind of curious what "skeletons" in Obama's closet you are referring to. Don't want to pry about what your "personal" issues are that made you hesitant, but I do wonder which facts about Obama's life were important to your decision. I apologize though if even that seems too nosy, just cultural curiosity. I personally don't come across many not solidly democratic youth (Seattle you know) so I'm eager to understand your position.

Hope you are doing well. My best to your whole family.

Hi you!
What's your email address these days? It'll be easier to write you there... 'free' of any public outcry for my response which I'll happily be very honest and open about.
