Oh man, CRAAAAZY day yesterday!
During the day, I did a route for Meals on Wheels, at night, I went and saw The Murder Junkies perform in Toledo. It was quite the contrast!
Meals on Wheels was fun. My route had 14 stops on it which wasn't too bad, and I felt good delivering food to the elderly and helping people out. I might do it again sometime soon if they need me.
The Murder Junkies show was fucking nuts! I've seen them three times now, and this was probably the best show overall. People were vomiting everywhere in the bar. A couple of fights broke out as well. Opening bands sucked, but the Murder Junkies delivered. I rocked out like a madman through the set and the lead singer PP Duvee even put the mic in my face a couple times and I sung the chorus to several tunes. Their setlist was okay, but rather short and could have been slightly better in my opinion. They did perform 'Be My Fucking Whore', 'I Wanna Rape You', 'Hangin' Out With Jim', 'Rowdy Beer Drinkin' Night', 'Dog Shit', and a few other good songs which escape me at the moment. Dino Sex (drummer) played the whole show naked (as usual) and after his drum solo, stuck not one, but two drum sticks up his anus. After the show, I noticed that I had blood splattered on my arm, so I went into the bathroom and examined my face and arms for lacerations. I had no wounds. There was something satisfying about knowing that the blood splattered on me was not my own.
I took some pictures when I was there, talked to Merle Allin (founder and bassist) and bought a reissued CD of GG Allin and the Murder Junkies 'Brutality and Bloodshed for All' album as well as the Dino Sex sex tape (something told me I just couldn't go the rest of my life without seeing a 50 something punkrock registered sex offender getting it on with a prositute).
On my way out, I noticed that there were over a dozen cop cars and firetrucks parked outside. I look over and there is this two story building up in flames just down the block. So I walk over to the damn thing, and watch firemen blast the building with several high powered firehoses for several minutes. Thing that surprised me the most is no matter how much water they shot at it, the fire just kept on burning away, seemingly unaffected. It was quite a sight!
Here are some pictures.
