My national bird is the Kiwi! I even have a pet Kiwi. *smiles*

I love bird-life, and the majority of the native creatures in my country are birds! A lot of them are endangered, and some of the birds in my country can't fly! They evolved that way centuries ago.

That is the coolest - kiwis are adorable, with their little shaggy feathers! I hear you guys have a parrot that can't fly, as well...

Does Sirocco, the amorous fella in this clip, seem familiar at all?

Don't have an official one, but it's gotta be the emu! It's on my coat of arms too. Emus are awesome! And you gotta pronounce it 'e-mew' not 'e-moo'! That's the Australian way!

I love birds! I have a heap of amazing species. And some of the most beautiful birds in the world, gotta be said!

My national bird is the barn swallow; however, the eagle is associated with Germanic heraldry, as seen in my coat of arms. The animal is something of a national symbol, as well. It saddens me that the Eastern Imperial Eagle, a beautiful bird and the former heraldic animal of Austria-Hungary, is now seldom found in my borders.

I've enjoyed my share of avian company through the years; I once kept a now endangered Greater Spotted Eagle, as well as several white carrier pigeons, which I used to contact other nations regarding diplomatic affairs.
