I do love this story - I love the little snippet of Heather/Beck's relationship without Beck being in the room. If Emily doesn't figure out that Heather's smitten, then she's really not a very good best friend (...no. I'll leave it at that. :D ).
I found the story of Emily and the birth control pills intriguing. I giggled like mad at Beck being a bit of Luddite - percussive repair *hee* - and the whole "he smiled, hell hath frozen over" bit was hilarious.
Oh, and the line from Crusade - it's been so long since I saw that series. :( Ummm...I'm going to guess the "limited supply of teachers at the end of the world. My job is secure."
