Awww, poor Heather. That's a very awkward situation to be in. :)
I was wondering when/if people were going to start to clue in she was more interested in Beck than just as friends.
“Oh well. When the major comes around, tell him he’s a lucky man.”
Heather blushed in embarrassed relief. She wasn’t a very good liar; the assumption that Ed wasn’t ready yet was the only thing that had saved them.
Phew! And awwww, she's so adorable, I just want to hug her. :)
