I thought about posting so many times.
  • On how much I loved Uprooted by Naomi Novik: Loved, loved, loved it. When I finished, I started over from the beginning. So layered. Hits emotional buttons while being intellectual. So, so many feels and thoughts about this book.
  • On season 2 of Agent Carter: Great! I thought the first season enjoyable although ( Read more... )

Y halo thar!!!!

I am adding Uprooted to my wish list; I liked the Temeraire novels that I read and from your description I'm guessing I'd like this too.

Mouse? As in, rodent?

Adjustable bed looks brilliant. Built-in massage!!! Go you!

I hadn't heard of Miche before--I'm almost glad, because what a great idea, and how disappointing.

It's good to hear from you!

Hiya

YMMV on Uprooted. I did not like the Temeraire novels. Reaction from bookgroup was mixed. Some who loved Temeraire thought this was just okay. One person didn't like it at all. My totally unscientific analysis is that English literature majors tend to like it more.

Yes, a rodent. He tore into a loaf of bread, ate packets of hot chocolate, left droppings everywhere, and worst of all, scampered about under my bed when I was trying to sleep. Traps didn't work. Poison didn't work. Sonic deterents seem to have done the trick.

The massage doesn't actually work well, but the salesperson said that's because I got an extra firm mattress. ::shrug:: I got it for the leg lift anyway.

I'd love to say I'll be writing regularly, but who knows.

Miche sounds like a good idea that maybe some other company will take up, more efficiently.

Aside from all the other great things about UPROOTED, I thought the pacing was just incredible.

All the feels about Uprooted, yes. All sympathy on the mouse front. We are having a significant issue there, too. Thusfar the count is 26 captured and released (because I'm a giant softie) and 4 killed by the cats. Sonic deterrent sounds like a good idea, but I worry that it would drive the dog crazy (and possibly me, too - I've got better high-frequency hearing than manufacturers seem to expect.)
