It started snowing this morning, and snowed most of the day. We have about 2-4" of snow, with a nice sheet of ice underneath. Needless to say, they announced that the Portland Public Schools would be closed on Monday at around 4 this afternoon...which means my clinic is closed as well. I'm from Spokane, Washington and I was telling Pete today that I'm going to have to live in the Portland area a lot longer before I get used to everything shutting down when a couple inches of snow fall. :P I totally understand why it does though. Last year I thought, "Well I've been driving in snow my whole life, I'll go into work," when it snowed and ended up almost not making it. I didn't realize that the roads don't get plowed and graveled/de-iced around here!
