I took shyfayrie's advice and ordered some soft paws for the kitties. Maybe we'll be able to keep the carpet in the new place nice, and I could refinish my armoire without having to worry about it being demolished again within days. So after much squirming, meowing, and shedding; we finally had three cats playing the hokey pokey. I gave them some tuna to ( Read more... )

Kodama's little pink nails are simultaneously the funniest and most adorable thing I've seen all day. Does this mean she'll be less apt to end up hanging from cushions by her claws? :)

That is the idea. :-) Eli and I watched her try to jump to the top of the couch, which is a jump she could make easily if she put more effort into it. Instead of grabbing on halfway up and clawing her way to the top, she slid right back off again. It was hilarious. Noke also displayed some hilarious paw waving behavior when she couldn't grip the furniture like she used to. Tatsu just slept on the back of the couch, as always. :-)

Awwwww. It's too bad you don't have photos of Noke doing the paw-waving, because I'm going into cuteness spasms just picturing it.

Ah, I did such a good job putting them on our cats the local PetSmart wanted me to come teach a class about it. Haha, I didn't think it was that hard, really. I was tempted to get the coloured ones, haha, now I wish I had!

Does PetSmart carry them? I ordered them from the softpaws site, and it would be nice to not pay shipping. Or is the price the same with the pet store mark-up?

And I can't believe you didn't get the colored ones! They're so much fun. Although I was wishing for the clear ones when I was trying to see how much glue I'd put in them. That was sort of a hit or miss thing. I ended up with too much glue in some of them, which ended up on my fingers, which picked up all the fur the cats were shedding. I had to use nail polish remover to defuzz my fingers afterward.

If I remember correctly, they were roughly $18 for a pack (can't remember how many were in there, but it was enough to have plenty left over in both small [the two gils] and med [the three boys], but we only did the front paws). And yes, our local PetSmart had them. Maybe you could call the local stores in your area, even if they don't have stuff, a lot of time they will order it for you. :)

Do you still use them? If so, check out Shyfayrie's comment below, she has a cheap ebay source. It's a better price than the official website. You know your cats need purple claws. :-)

You didn't type too much, this is great info. Cheaper is always better in my budget, but I'm wary of trusting ebay sellers most of the time, so having you recommend one is great. :-) And thanks for the compliment on my kitties. I'm such a proud parent. ^_~
