Yeah, I agree - it seems like he didn't really conduct this like a research project with sound methodology or recording practices, but more like a 'I think this will make a good experience to write a book about and get hype' as well as a 'this may be a good life experience that I will learn things from'.

One thing that I have been thinking alot about lately is how my use (overuse) of resources impacts the poor in other parts of the world, like, the fact that I leave the lights on, using too much energy, or don't recycle, polluting the environment, means that the effect trickles down to the poor in Brazil that I just took a trip to help because there is less for them because I use too much (because america uses too much), and we pollute their country by offshoring our manufacturing, etc. It's been an interesting thought process. I even recycled a few times. ;)
