ANGEL BEATS
Okay, so I'm getting out of my non-posting-ness to talk about my personal favorite anime of this season- Angel Beats! It's about this teenage dude (Otonashi) who wakes up in high school purgatory (which is no different from regular high school lol), and joins this group that calls themselves the SSS (not SOS, mind you), that attempts to fight against God by fighting the school president, Tenshi (or Tachibana Kanade, as we later find out). It's by Key, Aniplex, some manga magazine, and some others, but that's not really important.
WHAT'S IMPORTANT IS THAT IT IS MY BIGGEST OBSESSION SINCE HETALIA SEASON ONE. AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING.
I know how some people don't like it, and don't think it's that good, but I think the mixing of everything is damn near BRILLIANT. I love all of the characters, all of the music, and even all of the pairings, which is soooo weird, because I am so pairing OCD (though I still have my OTP). If you haven't watched it yet, please do. And don't just stop at episode 1, even if you do find it totally lackuster (not that I did, lol). At least go to episode 10. Because I know people who absolutely HATED this anime until episode 10, and then, even they cried.
So yeah, onto my favorite character of the show~!
YUI-NYAN
I LOVE HER LIKE PEOPLE LOVE BREATHING. Swear to God, I loved her since the first episode, which, yes I know, she was only in for half a second. BUT GOSH SHE WAS CUTE. And then, when she showed up again in episode three, and GOT THE FREAKIN' OPENING in episode 4, I knew I was done for. I LOVED HER SO MUCH♥ I haven't obsessed over a character like this since I started Little Busters (Kudo-chan).
And so then, Key really did me in. I was going through the anime, loving every second Yui was in it (especially if it involved Hinata too, OHOHOHOHO), and sort of wondering why she was considered a main character, because she clearly was not getting as much screentimes as Yurippe or Tenshi.
BUT THEN, I WATCHED EPISODE 10.
I had suspected it was a Yui episode from the voice preview, and this was even more enforced by the preview with pictures. Because of my suspicions, this episode felt like it took forever. When I got on the computer Friday night, I literally checked every seven minutes to see if it was up yet. The second it mentioned something about it on Wikipedia, I watched it.
AND OH MY GOD, I WAS IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. I had a new favorite character; a new favorite pairing; and, of course, a new favorite show. I WATCHED THAT EPISODE (at least, the last scene) THIRTY TIMES OVER. I am not exaggerating.
Episode 10 (in case you didn't watch it) was about Yui's past AND IF YOU WERE NOT A YUI FAN OR A HINATA/YUI FAN, YOU WILL BE ONCE YOU SEE IT. But I won't say more to spoil it for you all.
