Today's journal is just a simplified version of how I feel about the Spring 2011 Anime season thus far into it.
From favorite to least:
1. "Hidan no Aria" (The artwork is great, and I'm happy it's an anime by J.C. Staff staring the oh-so-stereotypical Rie Kugimiya. Plus, the light novel itself is just wonderful. Also, Riko is love<3)
2. "Hanasaku Iroha" (The animation is beautiful, and the characters are all likable. I think it's a perfect anniversery anime for P.A. Works. Yuina's adorable, and Kou/Ohana is the absolute cutest pairing this season.)
3. "Nichijou" (It's hilarious, it's by Kyoto Animation, and it stars Mai Aizawa. That is all.)
4. "Steins;Gate" (What a great conspiracy story! The animation is great, and I'm glad this got an anime too, because I adored "ChaosHead".)
5. "AnoHana" (It's a compelling story, and I can't believe I almost didn't watch it. Menma is so cute<3)
6. "The World God Only Knows 2" (The first season was so wonderful, I'm glad this is shaping up to be just as great.)
7. "Ao no Exorcist" (This is my favorite shounen anime in a while. I can't believe I'm not reading the manga!)
8. "Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko" (The characters are all cute, but it feels a lot like "Bakemonogatari". But still, Erio's hair is keeping me going.)
9. "SKET Dance" (The humor is wonderful, but I do wish the animation was a little better.)
10. "Hoshizora E Kakaru Hashi" (I know it's a typical eroge adaptation, but the animation is great and it's really heartwarming.)
11. "A Channel" (This is cute, but it feels so much like "K-ON".)
12. "[C]" (Despite the praise this is getting, I'm not sure I love this, mainly because the obvious CG is getting a little annoying.)
13. "Dog Days" (The whole thing feel "Meh" to me.)
14. "Maria+Holic: Alive" (I didn't love the first season, and this is no different.)
15. "Sekaiichi Hatsukoi" (My first hard-core yaoi, and I don't know...)
And tied for last place...
16(a). "Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai" (It feels like it's all fanservice, and I still have no idea what the hell is going on in this.)
16(b). "Deadman Wonderland" (I know this is show is very popular, but it's so depressing and gory, I can't stand it! I wasn't even originally going to watch it, but so many people were hype over it.)
By the way, here are my final standings for the previous season:
1. "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" (Undoubtely the top show of the season in all aspects.)
2. "IS: Infinite Stratos" (It was actually pretty hilarious, and Charlotte Dunois made the season.)
3. "Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka?" (This show was suprisingly touching, and I loved all the characters.)
4. "GOSICK" (Awesome outfits, and loli doing detective works. Enough said.)
5. "Kimi ni Todoke 2" (THEY FINALLY GOT TOGETHER. That is all.)
6. "Yumekui Merry" (It was so great, I read the whole manga in one go.)
7. "Fractale" (Just a wonderful story, painted by that maginficent studio.)
8. "Dragon Crisis!" (It's nice to see Rie Kugimiya in a new type of role, but sometimes the animation disappointed me.)
9. "Hourou Musuko" (I don't know what to make of this show, and a lot of the characters got on my nerves. Still, the story was sometimes compelling.)
10. "Onii-chan no koto Zenzen dakara ne!!" (I watched this because recently I've taking a liking to Eri Kitamura, but it was sort of... gross, and I didn't get the point.)
Anyways, there you have it~
