I've wanted an Asian ball joint doll since... um... some time in the 90's? They cost too much for me to spend on a foolish hobby, particularly now.

So here are my first two! They're 43cm tall, made of resin, fully jointed. The joints aren't very good, probably because my girls are both the less expensive Chinese variety. They're terribly cute, their ( Read more... )

They are sooo cute, did you make their outfits. They are really pretty dresses. I use to make barbie cloths for my step daughters then made cloths for my the porcelin dolls I use to make.

Yes, thanks! I love sewing. I used to make costumes for myself, but then I got old and fat :P

Which brand are your dolls? I'd broke down a while ago and got one of the Soom Gem dolls (about as big as your dolls).
On another note: is there any way to buy/order prints from you apart from the few on offer at deviantart?

Oooooh, Soom makes beautiful, beautiful dolls! Cassandra has one of the Soom Super Gem Honey Dews, and I'm very jealous... My two girls are both Bobobie Sprites, with BBB child bodies. I really like the head sculpts, but the bodies leave much to be desired. I'm only about half done with their face-ups. One still kinda smells like cigarettes (I got her from the DOA Marketplace, used), so I'm waiting to see if that will fade before I do any more work on her.

Tell me about your Soom!!! They have really beautiful bodies. How is the posing and motion?

For print sales, not right now. Margaret Summers, mom and agent, is sending my artwork out to art shows, but I don't have the time or money to do any other sales right now. I love Epson's print quality, but the ink costs are killing me right now. I used to sell prints and originals via ebay, but sales dried up and ebay raised rates, and it just wasn't worth it any more. I'd like to do etsy, but won't have time to set that up and monitor it until school is out.

The doll that I have is the Mini Gem called Uyoo. I haven't really done much with her --- she does keep a pose well, but her joints are a little tight (they're supposed to loosen a bit the more she's moved and posed) --- but she mostly stays in her box ( ... )
