Exams getting easier yadda yadda, here is my opinion
I trained as a teacher, from a teaching home, a profession that gave you close contact with the next generation, a chance to shape lives and ensure that the human race did not descend into idiocy.
I do not teach
The reason I do not teach is because the government's education policies (never mind the name or the face in charge, the policy is back office driven) is such that teachers do not have time to teach. They spend their time reading the curriculum and ensuring that children can repeat by Rote (remember that whole learning by understanding fad?) the curriculum.
Then people wonder why the grades keep going up. Simple, you don't have to be able to think to get grades now, just remember, you don't need to be able to apply knowledge, because the questions that you get asked in exams will be almost exactly identical to the test questions provided in the curriculum supported texts.
I sigh at the state of t he education system, and if steve_c ever makes PM I will be tempted to get into politics so that I can be in his cabinet and turn the whole corrupt shitheap around.
In other news, stuff has happened, I am still havig a good time in general, my shower got fixed at last and i met some RL warcrack people in London.
I'd update more regularly, but new work has me sitting next to the boss so what slacking time I could normally use, I have to actually spend being proactive.
Off to wipe on Patchwerk tonight for people who understand that sort of thing, 3 of 4 wings have the first boss down now :)
