hi! my husband is all about fermenting everything these days, since he found out how easy it is. I'm not going near the fermented oats (they smell terrible--I woke up to the smell this morning and the first thing I did was check the baby's diaper!), but I'm trying to get up the nerve to try the veggies (6 or 7 different kinds all fermented in one big jar).

lol, yeah some of the ferments can be whiffy! We do have "check to make sure the dog hasn't gone" moments. I don't ferment grains as often as I should, they're so much easier to digest and we have some dietary issues so thanks for reminding me to get back on that path!
It's funny, my husband was the same about fermenting after I walked him through it. He said he was shamed it was so easy and made something that tasty. He loves to make kimchi.
I'm a maniac for the veggies, I hope yours taste good. I just did some ginger carrots and garlic cabbage last week and they're so yum.
I haven't gotten into amazake, miso or tempeh yet because I don't really want to send away for cultures (errrm, "it's so much cheaper to lacto-ferment" is what I'm really saying) but they are on my list.

Wow! Your life sounds really awesome and interesting. I wish we could do half of that. I am cloth diaper (or was, the kid potty learned very early), co-sleeping, 3 year old nursing, peaceful parent but there is so many other things I wish I could do. In time, I'm sure.

Thank you (: I wish I'd been able to nurse for 3 years, that's so cool! The longest I was able to was 18 months and she just decided she didn't want to anymore. Isn't peaceful parenting such a nice way to go? It seems so instinctual to actually treat our children like the amazing humans they are. So happy to meet you, what a lovely path you're already creating for your little one!
