Hey friends,
Thanks to
arylla, I now feel the need to make a list of all the books that I read in 2009 -- and also a list of some books that I'd like to read. A lot of the German titles are dependent upon my ability to get them in German -- I resist reading things in translation whenever possible. Any links go to entries I've written about the book.

(check the dates in your first paragraph... also, the fact that present and past tense of "read" are spelled the same way makes the above question a little unnecessarily wordy. I wanted to say, "You 'red' books in the future?" but... yeah.)

Also, looking at your list is why I didn't recommend anything, ES--you read literature and actual books; I read the literary equivalent of action movies for the most part.

If you read it soon, you can discuss it with me while my trans group at church is reading it together! I would really value your input a lot while we're working on it in our group, and I think you will love it a lot. I have read it several times and I am so excited to be reading it again and I just can't say enough amazing things about how great this book is.
I'm trying to think what else I've read that would interest you. I mostly read books about energywork and religion these days. I'm assuming you've already read all the Bornstein and Feinberg in your gender studies material, but if you haven't...READ THEM, starting with Bornstein's My Gender Workbook or Feinberg's Transgender Warriors. If you're into poetry, Audre Lorde, Michelle Tea, and Walt Whitman are among my favorites. And for some truly mindblowingly beautiful fiction, anything by Francesca Lia Block ( ... )

I've read some poetry by all of those people, and I think I've read everything Francesca Lia Block has published? Or at least most of it, I guess it's been a few years since I read all that stuff.
And like I said, the list is going to grow. A lot. I can read more than 12 books in a year! And I'll have a lot of reading for school, of course.
