I'm thinking of dropping AP English. My dad is enouraging (discouraging?lol) me to drop it. It's stressing me out, and I'm trying very hard to get back on my feet these days. Yup. I choose happiness ( Read more... )

My suggestion to you:
I <3 Miss Ryan!!! She was an amazing amazing teacher and I think that my senior year would have been duller if I had not had her...However I had her for level two because I'm not a wicked smart kid...
But from the AP kids I'm good friends with I know they loved her too and said her class is great if your willing to put forward the effort because it is indeed a lot of effort. Then again she is a really good teacher (ei: students from her class last year got 5s on the AP english exams)
Dombey and Son is a truly hellish experience from what I've heard however I think from all the things I've seen and heard I would do almost anything to avoid Dr. M...
But indeed think things over cause it is a lot of work but it can be worth it...

I don't know if this helped but this is my KPHS Graduate Perspective (::dripping sarcasm::)

hahaha math class was actually a relief in my schedule last year. We didn't do anything! That was the easiest version of Junior year a girl could ask for.

Thanks for your perspective- I needed it :)

How's summer going?

hhahahahaha. 8h grade... such a joke.

Yes! Then again, I relaxed a lot this month... Maybe I'll begin college research and all that crap *cringes*

I've had better summers. But I'm getting the most out of this one, because first semester next year, applying to college and such- not gonna be fun!

I miss seeing you! Katie, Lizzie, Jackie and I thought we'd see you at the Kelly Clarkson concert at the Tweeter Center, but we didn't. Were you working?

LJ was cool and didn't show me the comment I posted when I refreshed the page. So excuse the deleted comment I had posted in replace of the first one.

DOMBEY AND SONS UUUUURGH

Had to read that last year. 900 pages of DICKENS...

And why didn't you do the essay on Capote? I think if you are 100% sure about taking the class, you should drop it. Especially because the Capote book is probably the easiest book you'll read there, and thats not the essay to miss.

And Skenyon is full of crap. Yeah I guess you COULD work on the essay now, but you are just going to overanalyze it until its about as interesting as corn flakes if you start now. I did mine 11:30 pm December 31. That wasn't smart. I'd suggest doing it somewhere between summer and New Years Eve lol. And interviews can wait- all mine were scheduled for fall. And I think you have a good couple months before you need to hurl yourself at the college application process.

Well I procrastinated doing the essay to about three days before it was due, and unfortunately, there was a traumatic event that I'd rather not going into detail about. Oh well... good news is I got the grade for the AP Eng exam- I got a 4 (somehow).

Thank you for the advice on college essays. I forget sometimes that Skenyon doesn't know everything haha.
