Bookends and old friends

The funniest thing happened today. This guy that I haven't seen in a really long time just ran into me as I was going into the movie theater tonight. I hugged him as hard as I could, but it still didn't feel real, so as we were talking I casually touched his hands and face to make sure I wasn't dreaming. My first name's the same as yours, except spelled differently. In school I never really said and never really did anything; I was not a person to whom anyone took note of, for anything. I didn't really have any close friends. And even though I was in studio art for that last semester senior year, I never showed anyone any of the pieces that I made that connected.

I added you because the way that you write is exactly the way that I think about things sometimes when I'm by myself. It was like reading my mind on a page. Thank you for reminding me, and for being exactly who you are.
