She emailed me Monday saying that my references hadn't responded and that if they hadn't by the end of the week, she would make up her mind regardless of whether they responded. I emailed her saying that I know two had sent theirs and we were awaiting a third and she did find them but once that statement was uttered I knew it

I'm sorry to hear that about the job. Hopefully you'll have other opportunities come up in the months ahead - I'll keep my fingers crossed. All you can really do at this point is keep your chin up, and you seem to be doing that well! Keep up the good fight. :)
