what does it feel like

to be NORMAL?! Augh, or to know what you are good at, to have SOME confidence in who you are. To even KNOW who you are! I know most people can say they struggle with these things, but it seems most people handle these issues better than I do. Many people may ACT like they have confidence and yet they don't, but they still go out and do things ( Read more... )

hi mel, thank you for your message the other day! i also read about what's going on in your life and how you're doing through lj. i must say, that i am sad to read how you feel so down on yourself and the circumstances in your life (staying at your grams). as i was reading this latest entry, i was actually thinking about asking if you had spoken with someone- ie, counselor, psychologist, etc. But then i continued reading and you asked what was thought about that. i personally have never been to one, but i have friends that have. if you're really feeling as down on yourself and it sounds like, then i say, what would you have to lose by going and talking to someone? at the least, you'll be able to release all of this negative energy and emotions your feeling. at the most, you will find how to truly love yourself for the wonderful person that you are, and realize that you are worthy of the love and friendship of those around you. i know that we haven't hung out in years, but the melanie that i knew was such a wonderful and ( ... )

Thanks for the comment Katie! I really appreciate your thoughts and opinions. I am seriously considering seeing a counselor. I'm praying more about it and how to go about looking for someone. If it's meant to be i'll find something that will work!

I hope wedding planning is continuing to go well and you are enjoying it all! :) I think about all the old gang back home a lot and wish I was better at getting in touch with people or getting together. Like Ani, I haven't talked to in years and I wonder how she's doing! I wish I could come home more often to actually try and visit and catch up with some of you. I'd love to someday meet Chip! :)

........

I love you as a Brother Mel! And I will always do my best to be there for you, even though I fail you so often.

Finally, a word of advice about your interview. BE YOURSELF!!! Don't try to "think" too much. That is, don't try to come up with a complicated answer to a question to try to impress them. Just give them an answer. There will be some who will disagree with me. But I honestly believe, when you try your best effort (which I believe YOU ARE) and are honest with who you are and how you communicate your abilities to others, that God WILL provide for you! As clicheish as that sounds, I know. Never despair my friend! Remember Luke 18:27, with God ALL things are possible!!!

Take care my friend. Unfortunately, I will be on the road all day tommorow. Hopefully we will leave NH by 8 AM and be in Houghton by 6 PM

Talk to you soon

Your Brother In Christ, Ken L.

Normality is overrated anyway.

Haven't heard from you in a while, Ken. Drop me an IM some time.
