Mom and I love to go for drives. They generally involve being on a genuine mission but sometimes it's just the "long way home". On a recent mission out side of our usual routes we zoomed past a hill of recently reclaimed land and to my delight it was covered with splashes of color. "Poppies!!" I exclaimed. It wasn't. It was Coneflowers.

What a lovely floral portrait!
That looks more like Gaillardia (blanket flower) than coneflower to me. Look how the petals (ray flowers) have three points. Most coneflowers have a single point, or the multiple points are tiny relative to the petal (ray flowers).

Oh! It could very well be. The field had been seeded with wildflowers at one point. They were all pretty much like this just different colors.
