I have been to both Holy Cross and Fairfield. I don't know how you got the idea that the campus was spread thin. It's small enough to walk from one corner to the other in 15 to 20 minutes. Also Fairfield's campus is much more attractive than Holy Cross. Holy Cross sits up on a hill, and it seems that everytime I am there it is freezing cold, not my idea of a great place to go to school. Secondly, Worcester is land locked, while Fairfield's campus is 5 minutes away from the beach. On sunny days there are few things better than being able to go the beach. Yeah, Holy Cross has some latin sayings carved in the buildings, why do you think they did that? So that maybe some one would say that it appeared to be a smarter school. From knowing students at Fairfield I can say that it is very academically challenging. It has a nationally recognized business school, not to say the rest are not as good, but that is just an example of the good academia there.
